Layout\Format
151 e-pages. Formatting is clean with little white space. There are no pictures of any kind, but does include b\w charts where appropriate. Over all a professional looking product.
Chapters 3-11: Physiology concerning how the bodies metabolism is regulated. This is all the information concerning how various hormones and other factors effect your metabolism. From leptin to cortizone to water, everything that you need to know about how you work.
Chapters 12-14: Preparatory information concerning “Repair Phases”. This includes testing to determine your metabolic state and what you need to know regarding what to expect while following the upcoming program.
Chapters 15-20: The “Repair Phases”. Yes, your ex was right. You are screwed up. This is what you do about it.
Chapter 21: Metaburn Fat Loss. This chapter moves away from you being screwed up to just being a little chubby. Now you go back to dieting, but not in a knucklehead way.
Commentary:
This was an interesting romp through territory that isn’t really talked about. See, typically the market is divided into two big areas. One is saying that everyone is special and that they have the magic pill that will make you better. The other side says that no one is special and that everyone needs to march to the same drummer to make the magic happen. With “The Metabolic Repair Manual” Leigh Peele splits the difference and says that you probably aren’t special…but let’s look at it really hard and logically just to make sure. If on the off chance that you are a special little butterfly then follow these progressive and logical steps to take you back to being just like everyone else.
The book itself is fairly simple to read. The physiology chapters are concise and get to the point without boring you. The manual includes a series of checklists and metabolic testing section that is interesting and well detailed. Another are that the work really shines is in the terrific level of attenttion given for the repair programming itself. When I say “programming”, this should be read as “Crystal clear instructions on absolutely everything that you need to know, do, can expect while doing this program”. Leigh does an absolutely outstanding job with this including all five repair” chapters, which is really the part(s) of the manual which will likely get the lions share of the attention anyway.
With the “attention to detail” comments above, let it be known that this manual is really intended for those that have been dieting hard for a long time or for those that might train people that have been abusing themselves (literally) with diet\exercise. The manual assumes that you have the knowledge on how to set up a diet\exercise plan reflecting the information given to you in the manual. If you don’t know what you’re doing here in the beginning, you’re probably not going to know at the end, even though you might have a better general plan or grasp of what “should” be going on. The bottom line with this is that you need to have a knowledge base on how to set up a weekly meal plan with a macro guidance
This is a solid product aimed at those that have been actively dieting unsuccessfully\improperly for an extended period of time. It provides excellent attention to detail\advice on how to follow the provided programs and allows for a certain degree of customization giving each purchaser an experience that should be appropriate to their level\background. By by giving exactly what is promised and being an over achiever in the process “The Metabolic Repair Manual” gets the giant red RECOMMENDED stamp.
